I'm really not sure I want to see the new P&P, really because I loved the A&E version so much. To me, Colin Firth is Mr Darcy, and I'm really not eager to see what they might have cut out to make it so much shorter.

I love the A&E version in a scary way; I'm as fangirly over it as I am about BtVS (though I'm even more fangirly about the Emma Thompson S&S). That said, I liked the new version. It was pretty and sweet, and did things in a different way

I think I will probably wind up seeing the new movie, since everyone seems to be raving about it and you're right, it's nice to see different interpretations if handled well.
CF does it for me way more than what I've seen of the new guy in the previews, actually, but we'll see if that changes once I've seen the whole movie.
