ALRIGHT. It is time, time for resolutions, some other stuff, and a survey that I took from Ark002.
Resolutions are something I, quite honestly, suck at. It doesn't matter. I hardly ever even remember them. But here she goes.
Note that I shall 'Memory' this and strike off whatever I can during and at the end of 2007. Whenever I accomplish a resolution, I will post it, as well. Some of them won't be accomplished during this year though.
THE JOURNAL RESOLUTIONS
In no particular order of importance...
#1 - Make a fresh, new layout for my LJ.
#2 - Keep a To-Do list as much as necessary.
#3 - Use a calendar for marking down important dates, like, say, the psychologist you've accidentally missed two times in the past two months.
#4 - Do SOMETHING physical. PLEASE. (Sex doesn't count). (Neither does using a Wii, if one is gotten).
#5 - Keep promises.
#6 - Sort out this University business by February.
#7 - Sort out this Trey business by...soon...
#8 - Write more of the current story, whatever comes to mind. Just do it. Practice makes Betterthanbefore.
#9 - Volunteer at the Children's Hospital, and donate to various organizations.
#10 - Develop art more--work on outlining and coloring, in general, as well as some problem areas with the drawing itself. Maybe get a tablet.
#11 - Replace computer.
#12 - Collect Batman junk and more graphic novels for: Batman, Teen Titans/Young Justice (or was it Justice Youth...whatever), Justice League...imparticular, look for the graphic novel about Terra.
#13 - Get a PSX1 to USB whatever thingy...I don't know. Whatever I need to try fighting games, and other things, with Trey.
#14 - Fall asleep less in class.
#15 - Read the books I got for Christmas.
#16 - Do something with hair. Something FUUUN.
#17 - Get a job during the summer.
#18 - Decide about moving away for next fall.
#19 - Make/modify own clothes, and learn to cut hair.
#20 - Think about organization.
#21 - (Leaving it blank, but wanna keep it in case).
#22 - Get passport.
#23 - Get driver's license.
That's about it for that. I think I'll take a moment to honor 2006 by making the very exciting
TRIUMPHS
1. Trey
Without Trey, these months would have been slow and lonely, filled with strife and unnecessary drama. To be honest, I'm afraid to get too sure of anything. But I know what he's done for me. After Russ, I was in a real state of confusion, and he came in, and took things slow, and cared in a way I've never seen anyone care--and been a person I've never known before. He's been a hero by my side in a fantasy world, a story-teller to me when I'm down, a friend when I feel without, a reliable boyfriend, and an eye-opener. He has calmed me down immensely, and shown me that love can come slowly and still be true, if not truer. Though sometimes he is unsure too, I trust him. And I'll continue to care, regardless of what happens with us.
"I've stopped trying to fight it, it's clear I have feelings for you. I think maybe you do have feelings for me too [...] Ohhh, this whole thing is Ice Cream." September 10, 2006.
2. The Summer
The Summer went really well about one month into it. It was a time of making amends with myself and taking ahold of my life. However short-lived by accomplishments during that time were--and my relationships, and however badly it ended, or sadly, depending on how you see it--it was a refreshing time and I felt good.
"Urhm, so it's been a busy few days between the sleeping and Gaia, but I'm feeling dandy enough. Yesterday absolutely flew by when I got caught up in MPL, and now I'm determined to keep myself at a safe distance from it, because it does suck you in and turn you into a popularity-seeking succubus from hell." - July 11, 2006.
3. College Life
Though slightly less jumpy and fun than summer, College has taught me a lot already. Being surrounded by my peers, feeling intelligent and challenged, and having some autonomy and direction, have all done wonders for me. It's been a great experience, even if I slept through a lot of it, and I've met some great people who I'm proud to call my friends.
"This is what I call an education." September 2, 2006.
4. Batman
The introduction of Batman and other comic book heroes I love has been really great. I love the way things have opened up to me in a new light, and how I can find myself amused by so much more. Justice League, Batman, Teen Titans, and so on, are all great stories that are sometimes not done justice in the mainstream media. See: Every Batman film ever made.
"I desire a fucking Batman layout. I need to make one. MUST MAKE IT. MAAAKE IT. BATMAN.
P.S: Batman, will you marry me? DON'T ANSWER YET! Wait until Christmas, and be my present! ;)." - September 8, 2006.
5. Graduation
Getting the hell out of high school is a triumph if ever there was one. While not a difficult task, definetly a freeing one. One more year in that dump and I might have dropped dead.
"Did I mention I graduated last Sunday? Oh yeah, got to sit next to Matthew Loiseau with Michelle on the other side, and some bitchy Wagar kid yammering on about what was wrong with everyone from behind. Pooks called it the Gangsta Bermeuda Triangle, and I was indeed almost lost in the mystery of the Dumb and Useless. I was also calling it the Gangsta Trinity.
...But this Trinity is not going to save Hyrule." - October 27, 2006.
TRAUMAS
1. Mom's Surgery
It went well, but it sure was a hellishly stressful situation right up until the day of. I was very worried about losing her.
"So Mom's been planning her will, since the surgery comes up in about a few weeks. It's scary to think about life without her, but I don't want to, so I think I'll just stick with the "her living" schema for my life." - 22 February, 2006.
2. The Breakup
The relationship with Travis and it's rollercoaster up's, downs, and final crashing, are not-surprisingly still affecting me today. Even moreso, I think they have left him with a bitter after-taste. Not only did this lead to five months of not talking, but it lead to a LOT of bad behavior on my part (and his, later).
"It was a mistake to give Travis an even bigger part of my heart, for it made me hostile and defensive. The relationship became a wounded animal whose dying wishes were merely to find the last shred of meat and devour it before it was too late. The bitter fights that were often one-sided before they became fueled by the unrequited feelings and the anger, the frustration, the loneliness, and the neediness, making them a dangerous and wild competition. The competition would never have a winner and always the losers would bottle up their feelings until an overflowing would occur and then all chaos would result. Of the two losers, I being the more aggressive, my hurts would be much more obvious, bleeding from large wounds that everyone could see if they looked. The wounds I received would stain my insides and grow dark and strange motivations to get revenge." - May 28,2006.
3. The Therapists
After an unpleasant end to 2005, I was still stuck with the two therapists they sicked on me to make sure I didn't try to off myself again, or wind up back in the Ward. While they were sort of helpful, just their presence sometimes reminded me of something I'd rather forget, and I greatly disliked the fact that they were reporting back to those clinical bastards on the 7th floor.
"It really bugs me that I have to explain myself to every single psychiatrist I talk to when they have my file right in front of them. I mean, what the hell do these people go to school for? They don't even have a background check on their patients? They don't even do some research?" - 19 December, 2005.
4. High School: Year Eleven
Though this was an entire year from 05-06 of utter misery and social decay, thanks to the lovely invasion of even more idiots, who only encouraged our resident idiots to act more idiotic; I still count this as one of the worst experiences that year. It was truly miserable. Having English with those dumbasses, being stuck in Step 120, struggling through Computer Sciences, and then having to hear any of them talk when the above stuff was going on in my life, made this an annoying and aggravating experience all around.
"School, which had once been a mere nuissance, now became what I thought was a death sentence. A personal one. Every passing day seemed to push me further into a sense of alienation and guilt, ...I was dropping my marks and I was missing more and more classes. It didn't get better. It was a black hole, and the person feeding it, ...was me. I had to stop it, because nobody else could do it for me." - April 2, 2006.
5. Russ
The untold story...or at least, I think, untold story, of what went wrong with the guy I thought was so perfect for me that I was about to drop dead from existential completion. It's staying untold, to my knowledge, because I'm too lazy to tell it. But it was bad. It went bad. Bad bad bad. Bad.
"Okay, so this was a severely fucked up week that recounting would do no good for.
Basically, Russ and I called it quits." - August 11, 2006.
And finally, the survey.
1.
song: Mouth Shut - The Veronicas
any special meaning to you: It reminds me of my relationship with Travis. Sadly.
any memories: Discovering this song several months after I stopped talking to him, and not really sure how to react to it. Reminds me of plenty bad things I did, and feelings I had.
who would you dedicate it to: Trav.
who do you think would dedicate it to YOU: Uhh. Hopefully, no one.
are you a fan of the artist: Yeah, I haven't disliked their music.
2.
song: Do It For Me Now - Angels & Airwaves
favorite lyric: "You're a thief and a witch, but I love you to death. You steal my heart and curse under your breath."
is it sung by a girl or boy: Guy
favorite song by that artist: "Start the Machine"
3.
song: A Valley Son (Sparing) - Grandaddy
which number is it on your playlist: No idea. Mine doesn't count numbers and I'm too lazy to check.
who wrote it: Generally, the bands write their own music--unless they're sucky pop idols.
does it have any swears in it: Nope. (Swears? I suspect a twelve-year-old wrote this).
would you recomend the song: It's extremely depressing, but hey, if you like that as much as me, definetly.
4.
song: Wake Me Up - Girls Aloud
does the title relate to the lyrics: Yes. It's said a lot.
who should listen to it: Anyone who can tolerate less mainstream poppish stuff. It's the kinda music you wanna watch a stripper dance slow-mo to.
does it describe your current emotion: No. I actually don't really get whether the song is about wanting abuse, or wanting an abusive guy. The line isn't terribly clear. But whatever the case, that's not my mood. Except...it IS about wondering about someone wanting you. And I am in a bit of a pickle. What a dumb phrase.
whats the first word in the song: "Wake".
how did you find out the artist: Pandora.
5.
song: Littlest Things - Lily Allen
does it make you sad: Kind of.
do your friends listen to it: My friends and I don't often share songs.
how old is the song: I'm pretty sure it's new, as I think Lily Allen is as well.
what mood does it generate: Nostalgia. Like I don't get that easily enough as-is. XD.
would you listen to it all the way through: That's a dumb question...who the hell gets a song and then doesn't listen to it the whole way through?
6.
song: 1998 - Naoki
which genre would you put it in: DDR music. It's a genre allll it's own.
any special meaning to you: It reminds me of one of my story ideas, and Russ. Eh.
does your mom like it: She's never heard it.
which album is it from: It's from DDR. How the hell should I know?
category: Judging by the lack of capitals, this person was not very intelligent. And with the ambiguity, I am most certain they don't think before they type. =OO INSULTZ.
7.
song: Perfect Situation - Weezer
who do you think would dedicate it to YOU: Hmmm...um. Uhh...T-Travis? ._. Uhh...yeah...uhh...I don't know. It's not a happy song. The title is ironic.
does it bring up any memories: It reminds me of Goose Wonder and Pwnz0rz Man, because I played a scene in my head to it for a while.
do you sing along to it: I don't remember.
does it describe your life at this moment: Uhh, nah. I don't know. Not REALLY.
did it ever?: Maybe?
8.
song: Latin Simone - Gorillaz
favorite song by the artist: "Tomorrow Comes Today"
which genre would it be: ...Gorillaz. >:3.
are the lyrics meaningful: They could be, but I wouldn't know, because they're abstract.
how old is the song: I am NOT looking up albums.
is it well known or no: BAD, BAD GRAMMAR! BAD GRAMMAR! D:. The answer is, "I do not know", but if Trey sent it to me, it stays close to my heart. It's one of his favorites, I think. And it reminds me of GW/PM.
9.
song: Animal I've Become - Three Days Grace
is it sung by a girl or boy: Boy.
how many times have you listened to it before: Enough.
how long have you had it on your playlist: Sometime when the semester wasn't done yet.
which number is it on the playlist: I DOOO NOT KNOOOWW.
bring up any memories: Not memories of my own.
10.
song: I'm So Sick - Flyleaf
similar to which other song: Another Flyleaf song? What a pointless question...Oh gawd. I sound like Trey. 8|.
who would you dedicate it to: The majority of the world's apathetic, cold-hearted, self-centered, money-grubbing, idiotic, ego-centric, pseudo-intellectuals.
what emotion is the song about: Frustration and not being heard.
is it hard to sing vocally: I imagine so.
do you like it: Yeah, but it's loud and hard to listen to with a headache.
