Del's been locked in her room since that first night back in the Nexus. Allen, ever Z's peacekeeper, took her wheelchair and left her in there without it. Jason brought her food at regular intervals, but she was otherwise left alone. No one wanted to bother Z with having to deal with his insane homicidal niece.
She felt the blows of the deaths as keenly as anyone else. And she'd known that it would escalate. It's what she would have done, in Aurelius's place. She wasn't surprised. But she resented being forced to experience it. In the back of Z's mind, she kept up a constant litany of blame.
And when Lucy was chemically burnt to death in all of their minds, she retaliated against her uncle. She had brutal, painful memories and she flung them at the web. Ashley's eyes going blank as Z failed to save her mind.
Unzipping a clear, blood-smeared body bag to find a half-crushed near-corpse of a large, soft-strong man, the metal harness around his waist ground inextricably into what was left of his abdomen. The glee she had felt at the project he represented. Her fury when his mind failed too. The horrid sound of shattering bone travelling up her spine.
