Things that have been pissing me off lately:

1. All these people who blatantly decry Israel for "human rights violations" and start ranting about how many Gazan civilians are dying, like that's what this whole issue is really about. It really irks me that people are conveniently overlooking the fact that GAZA STRUCK FIRST. Israel is only trying to defend itself. Which it has every right to do. End of story. Interestingly I don't see anyone blaming Gaza or Palestine (or anyone else in the Middle East, for that matter) for "human rights violations," when most of the violence is coming from them.
And I think that those Americans who bitch about our tax dollars going there would do well to remember that next to us, Israel has the strongest military in the world, and they made it that way without our help. I sure as hell don't want to break any friendly alliance with them--we need them on our side if and when the bombs start coming; they're one of the few allies this country has left.

Maybe it's because I'm Jewish, and I have this residual...complex, I guess?-- but I can't deal with the people who protest Israel anymore. I'm tired of seeing them stand on my streetcorner in front of the embassy, yelling the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. This conflict in the Middle East goes much deeper than simply Muslim vs. Jew and I'm tired of people ignoring that. We all have a right to our beliefs, I understand, and I respect that, but I can't listen to the pro-Gaza groups without feeling like they're antisemitic. I've never felt direct antisemitism; I don't have to. Just because it's not stated publicly doesn't mean it's not there, and I can't help but feel wary of anyone with any sort of "stop supporting Israel" message. I look at history and if someone is anti-Israel, I think deep down they're probably anti-Jew, just a little, and that I really can't respect.

2. When I come out of the metro, I just want to walk to my house, which is 50 feet away. I don't want street thugs who are congregating in the middle of the whole fucking sidewalk to call me "sweetheart" and start singing shit like "sexual seduction" when I walk by, like somehow I'm going to be flattered!? Am I supposed to think that's being polite? IT'S DISGUSTING AND ITS DEMEANING and these are also people who I will never be able to take seriously.

The only man who can call me by pet names is my dad.

People make me want to SCREAM.
