Hey all!
Bad things:
- My iPod is getting repaired. Either way, there is no way I'm getting my music back :'(
-
padfoot182 is leaving sa_slash/LJ/Facebook, for reasons that I know everyone who reads this knows about. This makes me very sad. I WILL MISS YOU, BEBE :(
- I had a trial singing lesson at school today. It was pretty hardcore, site-reading and shit, stuff I've never done before (and I can't read music D:) I was v. v. off. I could tell that Mrs. Jones was NOT impressed. I hope I don't get her when I do actually start (I'd really prefer to stay with my current teacher, but I need to start taking the AMEB exams if I wanna get through VCE music next year. Which I didn't actually want to, that part was kinda decided for me >_<) she seems sorta humorless. So yeah.. kinda traumatic. On the bright side, I got to start off with On My Own from Les Mis. Not terribly in-tune, but an operatic achievement compared to the rest of the lesson :p Ugh. I hate my voice when I'm nervous.
:( END OF BAD THINGS :(
LOLOL our class seems to be wearing down the sanity of our REPD teacher. XD She hates us so hardcore, we never listen in her classes, and no-one has any respect for her (srsly, not even the teachers) We're analysing contemporary media for Bible stories. It is v. hilarious. I don't know where the hell she's pulling them from.
The other day, we were analysing 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen (refreshingly clear references, compared to the other ridiculously vague quotes and motifs. Srsly, 'Beautiful Day' by U2, it has one mention of a flood and a dove, suddenly it's chock full of religious symbolism? The song is a message about environmental impact, you moron!)
Anyway, she didn't have the music, so we had to sing it. Except it turns out that Kirrilee had it on her iPod, so we didn't have to. However, it was not merely a coincidence that one person out of our entire class should have an extremely well-known song featured in an extremely well-known movie, oh no. It was ~*~*RELIGIOUS SYNCHRONICITY*~*~ Obv. God wanted Hallelujah on Kirrilee's iPod. Duh. The rest of the class was A+, though. We watched a cool-ass video about singing vegetables re-enacting Bible stories. Vegetales, has anyone else heard of it? BC I was talking to a boy at my school (Who I have the slightest huge crush on *cough*) and he was like, 'OMG! I grew up W Vegetales!!!' WTF? Lol. I'm pretty sure it didn't air in the UK when I was a kid XD.
One v. v. good thing-- I finally got one of my friends hooked on Spring Awakening! Gemma was the only person who actually watched the damn video start to finish and she loved it! (Fair's fair, Caitlyn said she would def. watch it if only she could dl things to her current comp ) Gemmy loves Ernst and Hanschen (Even better- she agrees that Gideon Glick is sex! I <3 my fag-hag friends!) So we basically spent the entire day reciting the Vineyard scene (those bells... so peaceful...) I spent the Science period taking her through the slashy side of Spring Awakening w cartoon sketches XD
(Gemma: So wait- Melchior and Moritz are together? Was that in the musical?
Me: SHUT UP, THEIR LOVE IS CANON!)
So yes, I am tres happy about that. I also downloaded 'Bet on It' off LimeWire. OH GOD. THAT SONG IS THE MOST HILARIOUS FUCKING SONG IN THE HISTORY OF FOREVER! HOW CAN ANYONE POSSIBLY THINK THAT ZAC EFRON IS STRAIGHT?!!?
BET ON IT BET ON IT BET ON IT
