Part I: "The Shoot"

I was asked to do a photoshoot of Hey Monday for the homepage feature on PureVolume. I went all the way to Tampa for the shoot and it was an incredible day. I love the Tampa area so much more than Orlando. Me and Davey started the shoot at 12pm yesterday and we finished up at about 1:30. There were a couple set-ups and all of the shots look great. I’m confident to say that this is by far my best work yet. I’m excited for everyone to see the photos, but I am not allowed to post them anywhere until the homepage feature is taken down. The features run for a couple days once they are posted. After the shoot, I went to the beach with Davey and we chilled out until the show. It was about 105 degrees during the shoot and I don’t know how any of us put up with it, but we did!
Part II: "Time Off"
After the shoot finished up, me and Davey went to grab some drinks to hydrate ourselves, then we went out to the St. Petersburg shore. Even though the temperate was excruciating, it felt nice to be near the shore. I got burnt pretty bad from being under the direct sun all morning during the shoot. The water in Tampa is unbelievably clear, and as warm as bath water. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Part III: "The Show"
The show was at the State Theatre in Tampa, FL. This Providence and Hey Monday’s live sets were a blast and the bands definitely had a lot of fun in Tampa. It was pretty easy to tell that it meant alot to Hey Monday to be headlining at the State Theatre, since the first show they played as a band was there less than a year ago when they were just an opening act. Pretty impressive how far this band has come since then. They were recently on tour with FOB and All Time Low. Before the show, we hung out in the venue during the afternoon sound check, and watched the singer of this providence put on an acoustic show out back behind the venue right before the show started.
