Summary: Jensen is a space captain. Jared is a space whore. When Jensen gives Jared just one chance, the kid takes it. They travel through hell and beyond, though that's partly astronomy, not metaphor. And in the end, maybe it wasn't the kid that needed saving.

Originally for a prompt in the To Boldly Go ficathon hosted by deirdre_c. I posted a little ficlet, and couldn't let it go. This, um, happened. And then, amazingly, cassiopeia7 happened, and made me think about practicalities and aerodynamics, and just what Hell's Gate should look like - and just look at what she made for this story. We hope you love both fic and art; we definitely loved creating them!
