Just wanted to post this somewhere because my stupid pencil is running out of lead and this is not my computer so I don't feel comfortable saving stuff on it :|
Hypothetically, obviously. Say there were elves. My own, whack version, but I'm calling it elves.
ELVES: freakishly pale, almost translucent, as they can't.. really tolerate natural light. HUGE ASS pupils, and they have like, perfect night vision. Hair isn't white, it's just colorless. They also have these markings/bumps on their face and ginormous ears, like each family, the bumps are passed down? Like instead of freckles, moles. I think. They live underground, or in caves. Or anywhere that's dark and dingy and damp. They live off of fungus (a true vegan ;D), and have like, baby teeth. Really really small, grinding teeth only. Usually a long facial structure, although there are different variations of elf. Immortal, unless fatally wounded. Also, they mate for life and usually only have one child.
HUMANS: yeah.
then one day, tralala, elf + human are like . YEAH and they have a hybrid babeh!
This would be what is known as a true vampire.
TRUE VAMPIRE: Pale, but more needs-to-get-outdoors pale. Can have varying skintones as well, if their (human) parent had a dark tone of skin. Just will be paler. They can only tolerate moonlight. Sunlight gives them a really bad sunburn, like enough to kill them. They also can't wear any sort of lotion or stuff, and are very sensitive to fragrants and such. They have four large canine teeth, two on top and two on bottom, and the rest of their teeth are the same as elves. This makes it really hard to eat solid food, because the canine teeth like dominate the rest of the mouth and they can't really chew without gnawing the inside of their cheek off. So they can only eat liquids. They, like the elves, were for the most part vegans. Smaller, but still pointed, ears. Face and hair color can be either elf like or human like, or sometimes a mix. This means they can either have the colorless hair with chunks of human hair or what. Not immortal, but lifespan is about fifty times the human lifespan. Still terribly short compared to elves. Also, they die if wounded fatally or burned to death. They are more like humans in mating terms. Offspring of a true vampire and a human is just a weaker version of a true vampire. Offspring of a true vampire and an elf is like a weaker version of an elf. Those are rare, though.

So those were the three so called 'intelligent' species. Then there were the zombies.
The zombies have been around for as long as any species. The elves probably know when the z virus showed up in the early days of history, but they aren't telling. See 'The Zombie Survival Guide' by Max Brooks for the type of zombies they are.
They had always been sort of under control, because a longlong time ago the elves had a big ol war with them and somehow rounded them all up in the most frozenest place evar.
But then inexplicably, it started to thaw, and so began that humanoids vs zombie war.
The elves took no part in it, and kept underground, because they couldn't risk any of their kind getting infected. In the previous war with the zombies, many elves did get infected, but weren't just ordinary zombies. No one really knows what they became, but they had to exterminate like half of their species to stop it spreading.
ANYWAYS all infected humans became zombies, and those that didn't become zombies were pretty much killed. About.
And this is where I lost track of where I was and moved on.
