I did really well in an alleycat last night (finished 4th fixed gear, 15th overall out of over 40 people who registered). It totally kicked my ass and i bombed the cliff house road at about 40mph (i didnt have a computer so i cant be sure but it definitely was over 35mph but it didnt feel like i was going over 45). The look i got from on-lookers was of disbelief and it made me feel waaaaaay too cool. I ended up winning a new cap that is definitely for show and not very practical for riding (i'll post a pic later when i feel like gloating more) and i got a sweet tshirt with the manifest printed upside down on the front so you can look down on it as you're wearing it and see where you have to go. All this and a bunch of beer for $10. On top of that, i dont feel terrible today, granted my back and legs are a little wonky but fuck shit could be so much worse.
