Merry Christmas!
It is Christmastime once more and I feel like this year especially Christmas just crept up on all of us like an unsuspecting criminal. My grandmother’s slipping on ice, thus causing her to break her femur was another one of those things that just have me going, “Huh?” My grandfather had just been out of the hospital for a good 3 days, and then something like that happens.
Christmas Eve was pretty mellow for me last night. I spent the afternoon in the company of my grandfather, aunt, and cousins drinking coffee and eating cookies, which was nice. I then drove in snowstormy conditions to the physical therapy center my grandmother is staying at to spend some time with her. Needless to say, she was ever so happy to see me. God, I love that woman! I do not know what I would do without her.
My mother flies in Tuesday to help out around here and take care of my grandfather. I am looking forwards to her arrival with utmost anticipation! I know I just got back to Germany from being home for Thanksgiving, but it’s always a treat to see my mummy-dearest!
We all visited my grandmother at the clinic today and had coffee and cake at the facility’s café. My man gets here in a few minutes and then I shall be giving him his present and vice versa. Will be hitting up Mirador with friends for drinks at 10... Tonight’ll do us all some good to just kick back and unwind.
