Walter Cronkite recalls his role in reporting to the nation one of the most significant events of the 20th century: the assassination of President Kennedy.

It would, of course, go on to be perhaps the best-known moment in the history of television journalism: Cronkite makes the announcement, takes off his glasses, pauses for the briefest of moments, clears his throat, and continues on.
