Radio Memory: So go on and let the rain pour, I'll be all you need and more

Jan 24, 2011 09:52

[It sounds like there's static on the line, though if you listen closely, one can determine that it's rain. The light noise is interrupted by the unmistakeable sound of a gunshot.]

"That's as far as you go."

[The voice is male, and recognisable to those who knew him as that of one Colonel Roy Mustang. Snap. There's the sound of the safety being removed from two other guns. He's not alone.]

"That was a close call, Fullmetal."

"Colonel! This guy's-"

[The second voice is young and belonging to a boy, probably in his teens. He sounds alarmed and relieved at the same time. Some older residents may recognise it as belonging to Alchemy. The rain carries on as the Colonel speaks again.]

"That man is a suspect for the serial murder of State Alchemists... But there's no doubt about it after taking a look at the present situation."

[There's a pause before the Colonel speaks again.]

"So, you're also responsible for the murders at the Tucker residence."

[He is answered by another male voice; this one low and calm though it carries a dangerous edge.]

"Alchemists are those that twist the natural state of creation into a degenerate form... That is, in short, sacrilege to our creator, God. I bring judgment, acting as God's hand."

[He issues his threat with a calm voice. The words are matter of fact. Colonel Mustang answers him.]

"That's something I don't understand. There are many alchemists, but why are you targeting only those that have State Licenses?"

"No matter what. If you intend to interfere, I will eliminate you too."

"...Interesting!"

[The Colonel's voice is quietly amused, confident, as though relishing in the challenge. The sound of a gun being placed into someone's hand, and a feminine sound of surprise follow, then a woman's voice.]

"Colonel Mustang!"

[Target's voice. She's alarmed. The deep voice of the other man, Mustang's opponent, speaks again. It's softer, almost as though he can't believe what he is hearing.]

"Mustang... As in the State Alchemist?"

"Indeed! Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist!"

"For one that turns against God to come to me in person to receive judgment... Today is a good day!"

[Footsteps in the rain; it seems the men are advancing upon each other.]

"You know that I am the Flame Alchemist and yet you dare to fight me!! You fool!"

[Rapidly approaching footfall, then a grunt of exertion from Target. The sound of fingers snapping damply is followed by a scuffle, it sounds as though someone is falling.]

"Woah!"

[Bang bang bang bang; the sound of gunfire as two handguns are dispatched, followed by bullets ricocheting off stone or brick.]

"What on earth do you think you're doing?!"

[Mustang's voice is indignant and disbelieving, but he is swiftly responded to by Target, whose raised tone will allow for no argument.]

"Colonel, please stay back. You're useless on rainy days."

[He makes a noise as though the words have struck him physically. Another man's voice chimes in, outwardly sounding respectful but there's a hint of amusement in his tone as well.]

"Oh yeah, when it's wet you can't even make a spark."

[OOC: Memory comes from Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 7, page 6-11 . The same scene is covered in FMA: Brotherhood episode 5, starting from 14:00 until 15:07]
