Not really sure what to post about. Just felt the need to post.
So the other day I got this AMAZING book, Will The Vampire People Please Leave The Lobby? True Adventures in Cult Fandom by Allyson Beatrice. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I knew Allyson a few years ago. When I was active in the Lost fandom, she put together the first fan event for the fandom, called Destination LA. She actually saved my ass, and the asses of my former friends, because we were trying to organize the event ourselves and had gotten in way over our heads until she came along and dug us out. I had also known of her, because if you're involved in Buffy/Angel/Firefly fandom online, you know who Allyson is.
Anyway, I digress. The book is a great read, about fandom and internet communities and how the friends one makes in fandom can change your life completely, if you let it. If you've been in fandom, if you've made friends in fandom, this book will touch you where you live. I highly, highly, highly recommend it.
