First semester coming to a close.

So perhaps it was a little rocky, a little rough but I made it through.

I have one assignment and one test left, after that I'm done for about three weeks, three weeks of bliss, three weeks of freedom, three weeks...

It's nice to know that I'll be able to experience some relaxation that has been properly earned and that isn't bombarded by the wonderful world of retail.  It feels like it's going to be a first in a lifetime, I suppose to some degree it almost has. I've been working since I got out of high school, which is 7 years of pure retail.

Regardless of that nonsense, I'm doing well in school and am somewhat apprehensively looking to next semester.  This semester was hard on me, very stressful and a lot of hard work, with journalism you don't merely do work from a text book or write papers and tests. You have to go out and get your homework, you have to find people who are willing to talk to you, who are willing to be a part of your story. It's nowhere near as easy as one might think, for the most part... people don't want to talk to student journalists.

Next semester is primarily radio, which means I won't be able to rely on my email interviews of this semester, it'll have to be in person interviews, or over the phone if I can record my phone calls. Regardless, sound bites are vital.

My first trip into the studio I had students praising my voice telling me that I would do very well in radio, which is quite promising, I rather enjoy the idea of working in a radio studio.

Well...
In a week I go to Thunder Bay, I look forward to seeing my family and the cats again, even if it's only for a little while...
