Well, another day of making an ass of myself, another day down the drain. Barely played guitar today. Barely wanted to. I even temporarily forgot it was my Mom's birthday, which is HORRIBLE.

But the day had a turning point... Dave Bittner. Man, that kid is the closest thing to Jesus I've ever known.

Anyway, he said, and I hope I can remember this... I think I can... In fact, I'll quote the whole conversation.

Dave B.: Don't worry about it... A great poet/songwriter once said, 'If you're not going to be worrying about it in 5 years, it's not worth worrying about today.'

Dave P.: Man... that's actually really good advice! Who said it?

Dave B.:I think Cher

lol Cher, the ultimate punchline.

Brought my mood from a 2.8 to a nice level 5.0.

Bought my Mom a birthday card from Hallmark down the street... kind of nice having lots of stores within walking distance. The card says something like

"Throughout all the years, I have always kept the wisdom you've given me, Mom."

on the inside

"And sometimes I even use the seem mannerisms and tone of voice"

Then I wrote "I love you, Mommy! *drew a few little hearts* David

I bought her a very nice bowl from Art Vans, as well. OKAY, not THAT nice, but like 40$'s or something.

AND I took her, Duane, and Shauna out to dinner.

It's nice having money and being able to do nice things.

But all that really matters is that you mean it, I suppose.

I didn't have a chance to give her the card or the bowl today, so I left it on the kitchen table so she'll find it tommorow morning.

On the card envelope, I wrote "Who the hell do you THINK it's for? Seriously? *drew a few more little hearts*"

Aside from that, hung out with Shauna today. She is officially enlisted in the Air Force. I'm so worried for her!! No one can say it, but what if she died?! It's possible. But Gumby said "The odds of you dying in Iraq are less than the chances of you dying in a car accident here."

Hopefully true. But that would be something I could not bare. I shall make no more mention of it.

I'm also worried about her making it through basic training. She's going to have to quit smoking WHILE in training, which will make her a complete wreck, and... shit, it's basic training!

However, I'm quite excited at the possibilities she has. Free school. GOOD school. LOTS of money. Sooo many places she will travel. She will get in shape and once she quits smoking, it will hopefully be for good. If I were Christian, I'd pray for the best.

Well, we, as already mentioned, went to Rams Horn for my Mom's Birthday. Hey, shouldn't Rams Horn be Ram's Horn? I wonder if it is, on the sign. I'll check.

Then we went to Matt's house, back at good old Branford. He's a real cool guy. Chris said "Matt's upstairs sleeping, and he said that you're the only one who's aloud to wake him up," which is totally weird because he wasn't even expecting me over.

But he was tired as fuck and depressed about working on Devils Night. He's like an on-call security guard... aka the Guardian Alarm guy who is the very first one to check out shady situations... in the ghetto ass of Detroit. I'm sure he'll be fine, but ya can't blame him.

Anyway, me and him might hang out tommorow. He's talking about throwing a rave with Nerry Castro. lol Totally crazy. I just saw Nerry last night at a party for the first time in years and years and years. Actually, about two.

After that, me and Shauna just chilled... and talked... about both of our changing lives... her, going to the Air Force, me going to Boston. Crazy.

We went to Heritage Perk, alas they closed right as we went in.

So we got some coffees and went to her house to watch a movie. MAN that movie PISSED ME OFF!!!

Like, okay, a guy becomes obsessed with a picture of a woman from 1910, the picture is hanging in an antique gallery in a hotel.

He becomes OBSESSED.

He finds out he met this lady right before she died, about 8 years ago.

So he travels back in time using the power of suggestion, and she ends up being some super famous actress.

They meet, she is scared of his obsessiveness, but they soon fall madly in love, the greatest romance of all time. Very sweet and endearing. Pretty good acting.

Then, they consumate there love, and are sitting in the hotel together B.S.ing and occasionally having those deep romantic kisses that ones higher soul craves.

And then he pulls a penny from 1979 out of his pocket, travels back in time to where he came from, and DIES OF A BROKEN HEART! WHAT THE FUCK!??!

Has anyone seen this movie? I seriously want to kill myself.

Anyway. Now I'm home, wishing Duane und my mother weren't sleeping so I could play the old 12-string some.

Also, I'm getting impatient with this whole "us getting a piano" thing. I want it NOW! NOW I SAY!

Yep. It's one of those nights.

Me? Bi-polar? Schizo-typal? Noooo. Not me.

And dude... I heard Free Bird live on CD today, and man oh man... the breakdown kicks in, the crowd goes absolutely ape-shit and the onslaught of a 6 minute guitar solo that would make Beethoven scream and let his freak flag fly rages like a tidal wave set off from the moon crashing into the earth. The emotion sounds real, and raw, and hungry, not like they played it a million times (which they have), but like it's the very first time and they're living the emotion as it happens.

I rant about Free Bird too often.

Okay I'm done. No one is gonna read this whole entry anyway. No one.
