These days one of the ways I stay on task at work is to ponder top ten lists of various things. With the holidays I actually have time to write them down--and what's more: post neat photographs and short comments.
A healthy dose of American and Japanese I think. A surprising number of female roles.
1. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Of course she's my favorite. I really do believe her character is 100% perfect. Her flaws are understandable and easy to relate to. She's perfect but it's okay and not annoying. Clever, powerful, sweet, cute, everything. I like that I don't hate her but on the contrary, think she is the greatest thing ever.
2. Matsuyama Kenichi as Gamagori Futaro in Zeni Geba
Unfortunately I relate to him a considerable amount. In the end as he screams I'm not wrong! I agree. You're not.
3. Ougo Suzuka as Hayashi Niko in Sexy Voice and Robo
She is intelligent and very serious and too mature but knows better than to act that way around everyone, so she can also act light and sweet around others. She thinks that everyone is a little ridiculous with the way they love and carry on. She hangs around weirdos and geeks. Despite her seriousness, she still cares deeply for her family and friends though not outright affectionate. For all these traits, I understand her character totally and commiserate completely.
4. Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars in Veronica Mars
I'd put her on the list just because she's hilarious and wonderfully sarcastic but she's also soooo beautiful and so intelligent and her character is so complex. She's really great.
5. Ueno Juri as Kishimoto Ruka in Last Friends
I feel sorry for her because I can understand her.
6. Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Lee Johnson in The Closer
I really hate this type of television show--not just because there are too many on TV now but because they are all so violent and sad but being forced to watch this show with my aunt and uncle--I'm not so upset because the character interaction and development is enough to keep me interested and I think Brenda Lee is the best. She's has such a powerful air when she is doing her job but then at the same time she's incredibly adorable. I also think she has a great wardrobe.
7. Miura Haruma as Shiraishi Ryo in Binbo Danshi
He's so cute and shy and polite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Kamenashi Kazuya as Hatanaka Kosaku in 1 Pound Gospel
So innocent and happy that I believe it and feel happy when I watch him too.
9.John Mahoney as Martin Crane in Frasier
Martin is my favorite character from Frasier. Although I truly love all the characters and think they are all so funny, Martin's sarcasm is truly the best.
10. Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster in Jeeves & Wooster
The foremost reason as to why I will never like House. I was a fan of Jeeves & Wooster before that whole thing and will never see Hugh Laurie as anybody other than the ridiculous and hilarious Bertie Wooster.
I stole my photos from Google Image Searches.
Back to work tomorrow.
