wow it's 2009 already, time passes amazingly fast :/ and i quote marissa from her commonwealth essay from long ago, TIME FLIES LIKE AN ARROW AND FRUIT FLIES LIKE A BANANA ... (:
not especially good at writing stuff like this but i know i'll regret not saying a proper goodbye to 2008 when i look back so here's the over-rated end-of-year-goodbye-2008-hello-2009 post :D
i dont know but 2008 felt way too short for me; it seems only like yesterday when i first stepped into RJ, feeling extremely overwhelmed by the pure vastness of the campus, the sheer number of people around, and the scary unfamiliarity of basically everything. but somehow, slowly by slowly, bit by bit and way before i've even realised it, i've eased into the ups and downs of a routine that i've now come to know and love, a routine that's my J1 life. well it's not exactly a routine persay since i wouldn't even dream of calling the past year boring, in fact it's been everything but that. i'm not saying that 2008 was perfect (definitely not, i can think of a million and one ways it could have been better but you know, life doesn't always go your way) but it surely was memorable.
many things have happened:
have gotten to know a lot of people of whom many are just acquaintances, people you say 'hi' and 'bye' to, and nothing more than the mandatory greetings and/or small talk
have made alot of new friends - ones i'm getting to know, trust and love
have drifted apart from some but in the process realised who are the ones that really matter and will stand by me no matter what
have gone through a whole gamut of emotions, some pleasant but sadly, not always so
have faced way too many setbacks, disappointments for my liking but yeah failure is the mother of success or so i like to take comfort in
have grown up, matured (hopefully emotionally and physically though i'm still vertically challenged is so... ugh D:)
(i'm getting lazy so the list shall stop here but you get the idea(:)
despite everything i'm still way thankful for everyone in my life and everything that has happened. because you know, what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger! so a sincere THANK YOU to you and you and you who's reading this post (i hope you're reading this because you care, not cause you're bored or kaypoh or just blog surfing :D) just so you know, i love you, i truly madly deeply do <3
i'd put some pictures up to remember 2008 but it's late and i'm lazy and yeah those are two perfectly good reasons why i'm not going to so yeah(:
i'm hoping 2009 will be a just as good, if not an even better year. hopefully it won't be overkill with A-levels and all those scary shit exams coming up :/
k so that's it for now. i think i'll probably edit this post tomorrow or sometime very soon since it's pretty important but till then, enjoy 2009.
