The Vagabond is back in the NO
So I just got back and I'm already antsy. I'm searching for my next destination but I think my requests are too limiting. For one I need to be somewhere with warm weather so this excludes everywhere except the southwest. Two there should be a decent arts/culture scene. Third is diversity. Fourth I would like the city to be smaller, LA was just too spread out for me. Fifth I would like to be able to afford my own place, the studio house I had in LA completely spoiled my ass.
My fantasy spot would have me residing in old one bedroom house with cool archways and vintage floral wallpaper, the exterior would be painted pink or electric blue. My neighborhood would be up in the hills surrounded by trees and maybe close to a lake/river. It would be a five minute drive or quick bike ride to town where you can find vintage/thrift shops, an amazing video store, a movie theater that plays midnight movies and the latest indie films, a decent record store, a Trader Joe's, a wider variety of restaurants, and few dive bars with rad jukeboxes. Oh and to be about 1-2 hours away from a huge city for concerts and exhibits that don't come to smaller cities. I don't think that's asking too much..haha.
I was looking into San Luis Obispo but i'm still not sure. It doesn't get warm enough and white to minority ratio is crazy. But I guess i'll check it out. Looking for places outside of Cali is a gamble cause that fuck up will be costly if I don't dig being in another state.
