I'm sitting at reception for a couple of hours while the receptionist is in a meeting. I get this call from someone who ordered gift cerificates last week sometime, and has not received them yet, although she was supposed to get them on Wednesday. She proceeds to yell at me because the gift certificate department (which due to firings, mat. leave, and short term disability leave, has been reduced to one person) has not returned any of her calls. And why is it that the website still lists that phone number when that person no longer works there? (because it's now a general gift certs number) So why isn't anyone checking that voicemail? (I don't know, I'm just main reception, I couldn't tell you why someone else isn't doing their job.)
Gah. Please, for the love of Pete, do NOT yell at me for someone else's inability to do their job. I understand that as the receptionist, I'm the representative for the company, the girl on the front lines, but geez. There's only so much I can do about that. Yell at the person who can actually do something about it. Mrrrr.
rants,
work
