So I took a suggestion from Cynthia and did something today. Instead of just reading about rocket stoves and wishing I had one, or knew how to make one... I just went outside and started building. I was working from a picture and I don't think my little mock-up is that good (dry stacked bricks) but this thing sure does burn! It took me about an hour from scratch (bricks at hand). Let me tell you - I am totally impressed. I burned only three normal sized logs (split into very small pieces) and after two hours of burning, I was left with a small handful of ashes, no smoke and every single brick heated all the way through - too hot to touch. Totally efficient! Check it out...
An attempt at rocket stove tea! Let there be heat! A fire that burns sideways, not up... My creation... (behind) My creation... (front)
