Winter. Blah.
So sick of winter. And really, it's barely started. But we got 31cm of snow overnight - took M three hours to shovel out the driveway, in front of the house, and the back of the house (that's our emergency escape route). I drove to work this morning, on badly plowed streets, since it seemed slightly safer than trying to walk on narrowed roads. Looking out of my office window right now and it's sunny with blue sky. 5 minutes ago I couldn't see my car in the lot due to the snow. If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes...
So far this winter we've had snow, then a couple of warm days leading to a thaw. Aside from the potential for flooding, this is good because it means we don't get huge snowbanks everywhere, and it's easier to clear a path as you still have somewhere to put the snow. But they're telling us it's going to stay cold now, which means this snow will be sticking around - and will no doubt be added to.
I know, I'm whining. But... it's winter. And I whilst I enjoy some aspects - sliding! Snowman building! Warming up with a hot chocolate and Bailey's! - for the most part it's just long and stressful.
