Every so often the Council is called.

The Council - with audible capitalization (and occasionally visible capitalization, though that involves far more writing than is strictly necessary) - is not so much formal as any fancy lettering may suggest. Mostly, it is called when Acheron is feeling antsy and needs some sort of setting in which to associate with people who have no alternate means of escape. Which usually coincides rather directly with the time that Charon has decided that he is fed up with having to deal with Acheron on his own. (Not that anyone blames him overly much. Acheron is - well, yes. Acheron is somewhat difficult in large doses.)

Styx very rarely bothers to attend. This is primarily because Styx does not particularly care.

Which is not to imply that any of them - well, any of the rest of them - particularly mind the interruption.

The Underworld is nothing if not monotonous.

And there is, after all, something to be said for live company.

phlegethon, lethe, charon, acheron, cocytus
