Paul!Paul!
The thing you gotta remember when you’re in a play is that it’s a play. An act. From the moment the soles of your shoes slap against the wooden stage floor at the opening scene to the final curtain call where you bow and wave out to the audience with a smile on your face.
Acting is like teasing. You gotta hide yourself, conceal your identity. Don’t let anyone in on the secret, because that would ruin the whole thing. You’re a different person, and you can leave everything you hate about yourself behind. You love yourself for different reasons, loathe yourself for different reasons.
Acting is about change. Sometimes, you gotta adjust your character to fit the story, even if you don’t agree to how you’ve gotta act when it happens. Sometimes, roles are gonna switch as more and more people start to get involved. You get new lines to memorize, new blocking to familiarize yourself with. New songs to sing. New people to get used to. A new beat to dance to.
One day she tells me, “Edit in characterization. You gotta change roles.”
And I ask her. “Why?”
“We need a change.”
Sometimes, that’s the only answer any of us will ever get.
Acting is like falling in love. When you find out everything’s rehearsed. Lies are told. Roles switch. Minds change. As more people leave, more people start to come in.
Chaos. And you can’t wait till curtain call so you can leave everything behind.
I dunno who I'm supposed to hate or who I'm supposed to love anymore. All I get is that we're all cheating on each other, not telling the entire story of what's really going on. I dunno what to think. I dunno.

My head hurts, guys. :)) Had Paul!Paul! practice today. And our filed trip's on Monday, wahoo. Going out with mah BBs on Saturday.
