The horror....
So Today I went to taco bell and one of the funniest things and one of the most depressing things happened at the same time...
I walk in with my usual swagger, approach the counter and proudly proclaim that I, Chris Kneale, would like 2 CLUB chalupas, no not a baja or a supreme, but the CLUB chalupa. The seemingly mexican/philipino/perhaps eastern european man looks me straight in the eye and says in a saucy british accent "We aint got no Club Chalupas no more." Yes... you read that right folks... In a saucy british accent. I was baffled... I even kept the conversation going just to make sure I had heard what accent I thought I did. This amazing chalupa was entirely... out of my grasp... for they stopped serving it last sunday at all taco bell franchises. The near cult following it caused was evident in the next 4 customers that came in. Every single one asking for 2 club chalupas or so. And everytime he answered, We aint got no club chalupas...
This entire event really begs the question, is there a redneck/lower class colony of entirely british somewhat mexicans/philipinos living in this country that has just come out from hiding? or perhaps is this al quaedas most recent attempt to infiltrate out society with entirely uncharacteristic awkward people?
