Alice - ♥♥♥♥ - Miss Alice~! (Hakkai adores her.)
Their first meeting was awkward (he left some naughty things in her gift by mistake) so he felt guilty about it and wanted to make up for it. When he got to know her better he found that she was a very intelligent, cultured, and curious young lady. She would've made an excellent student. He's protective of her, but also somewhat cautious since he's scary in his demon form and doesn't want to frighten her. He hopes that she never discovers his darker side. In the meantime, he loves to meet Alice for tea and small talk and secretly hopes to have a daughter like her someday.
Canas - ♥♥♥♥ - Ah, a fellow intellect~!
Speculating about the workings of the dream world, some of the strange species in it, and other phenomena is always so much more fun when you have a friend! Hakkai would be happy to spend hours sitting around and chatting about the particulars of any given subject with Canas, and they did discuss the things they studied in school as well as conduct a survey about the magic and technology in the worlds or origin for some of Somaruim's residents. Hakkai was also really looking forward to teaching Canas his Chi-gong techniques. He misses his friend!
Chii - ♥ - She seems like a nice person... er, persocom?
A sweet and optimistic young lady, Hakkai has seen Chii around a few times. It seems that she's always trying to help people. She was also the first 'person' he met in Somaruim who (like him) was not human. He doesn't quite understand the concept of a computer that looks like a person and Chii seems much more like a person to him. She also strikes him as being very trusting, which makes her vulnerable. Hakkai worries when he sees her walking around on her own. Somaruim can be a dangerous place sometimes, and he'd protect her if she needed it.
D - ♥ - ... (Takuma's boyfriend.)While they've only spoken a few times, Hakkai feels as though he already knows the dhampir. D is a distant fellow who doesn't talk much, and Hakkai can identify, having been very withdrawn in his teenage years. It's an awkward sort of empathy, because while Hakkai wants to reassure D that he isn't a threat, he also understands that (in most cases) D doesn't want to be bothered. He can see that Takuma and D are happy together... most of the time. Though they've had some troubles, Hakkai thinks they're a great couple and hopes that the two of them will always be happy.
Elizabeth -
♥♥♥♥ - Dear Miss Elizabeth... (Such an amazing woman.)For awhile, Hakkai thought that Elizabeth Bennet was the personification of his ideal wife. She was seemingly indestructible (they sparred on one occasion and proved quite the match for each other) and she had a fetching figure, though he's not entirely sure how she woudl've felt about bearing him numerous children. He was very careful to be act the part of a gentleman with her and treat her with the utmost respect and dignity, and he would've dearly loved to go and visit her 'England' someday. Her disappearance was a blow to him, and he felt as though he lost something precious.
Gojyo -
♥♥♥♥♥ - ... (What can he say? It's Gojyo.)
From the beginning, Gojyo didn't take to Somaruim very well. Hakkai felt like it was his fault, since he had wished for Gojyo to be there in the first place. To make matters worse, Hakkai had a dream about all of the people he was crushing on. Among other things, making clear his true feelings for Gojyo. The dreamberry recorded it and of course Gojyo saw it. They had an awkward Valentines dinner, during which Hakkai asked if it would ruin their friendship to try for something more. Gojyo said that it probably would. Soon after that he disappeared. Hakkai was heartbroken.
Goku - ♥♥♥♥♥ - Such an appetite for life~!
On one hand, Hakkai was really happy to see Goku when he showed up in Somaruim (not long after Hakkai's own arrival) on the other hand, it's not really fair for someone like Goku to be trapped anywhere-- even a place as big as this. Still, the entire group was together and everyone seemed happy. Goku's cheerful and optimistic attitude always made even the worst situations feel so much better. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long. Goku left only a short while after arriving. Hakkai misses the way Goku always enjoyed his cooking. He doesn't have anyone to cook for now.
Hakuryuu - ♥♥♥♥♥ - Hello, little friend~!
It seemed as though Hakuryuu had been stuck in Somarium with Sanzo when Hakkai first arrived. (Of course, Hakkai couldn't have that.) He was happy to resume his care of the little dragon, and they went through a lot together. Hakuryuu was with Hakkai through Sanzo's strange dreams, Goku's disappearance, and all the awkwardness with Gojyo. At one point he turned into Jeep and honked in morse code so they could communicate. Hakuryuu also turned human once, which was awkward since he couldn't care for himself. Hakuryuu was also the last of Hakkai's friends to leave.
Harley - ♥♥♥ - He's somewhat like Goku... (but not really).
A strong and enthusiastic young man, Hakkai met him by chance one day while Harley looking for recipes so that he could cook and eat a sand shark that he'd caught out in the desert. Hakkai was more than happy to provide a few suggestions. While getting to know Harley, Hakkai also noticed the young man's above average strength and voracious appetite (almost as bad as Goku, but not quite). The two of them once put on a barbecue for all of Somaruim. Hakkai also considered cooking at a restaurant Harley was going to open with a friend, but that never went through.
Irial -
? - Ah... (Awkward relationship.)Hakkai was never sure what to think of Irial. They met by chance a few times, although those times were few and far between. Initially, Hakkai saw Irial as a man somewhat like himself, only hiding something. He knew that Irial wan't human, although exactly what Irial was remains a mystery to him. On their second meeting Hakkai found that Irial could be quite seductive. They ended up having a one-night stand. Their most recent meeting left him feeling unsettled, as he sensed that Irial was trying to feed off him in some way. Hakkai wonders whether Irial ever had any emotions.
Sanzo -
♥♥♥♥♥ - Such an irritable person~!
Shortly after Hakkai arrived in Somaruim, Sanzo started having a strange hallucination. Hakkai did all he could to help, though Sanzo was hardly cooperative. Being a dream world, this was probably the worst place for people like himself and Sanzo to end up. Even their normal dreams would likely be too much for most people. Hakkai understood why Sanzo was in such a bad mood all the time. He also feels like a bit of a failure for being unable to protect Sanzo from all the ill effects of the place. Luckily, Sanzo was gone by the time Hakkai had a perverted dream about him.
Schrodinger - ♥♥♥ - Such a playful young man~!There's something that draws Hakkai to Schrodinger, maybe it's the rebellious attitude? Hakkai can certainly identify with the catboy's playful and devious nature. Schrodinger is also pretty bright and Hakkai enjoys talking with him and hearing about the place he came from. Though he doesn't completely agree with Schrodinger's destructive ideals, Hakkai understands them because he once had similar tendencies himself. So he gives Schrodinger the benefit of a doubt, from one self-centered person to another, and considers the young man a good friend.
Takuma - ♥♥♥ - Pretty, but sad.Having met him through Alice, Hakkai immediately appreciated the older-brother type role that Takuma played in her life. Since Hakkai is protective of Alice as well, he wanted to gain Takuma's trust. Later on he learned more about Takuma's playful and optimistic side, and impression which stuck with him for awhile. Though Takuma can be a bit devious from time to time, Hakkai considers the young man harmless, especially in comparison with himself. Takuma has also seemed sadder after returning to Somaruim, and Hakkai worries about him.
Tamaki -
♥♥♥♥ - Such an idiot, but why is he so charming?Hakkai had a crush on the host king for the longest time. Tamaki was one of the first people Hakkai met in Somarium, and helped him get his feet on the ground, for which Hakkai was immensely grateful. Hakkai later found out that they shared certain sentimental traits, like referring to their friends as members of a family. Hakkai started to back off when Haruhi arrived because he can tell how much Tamaki cares for her. (And Hakkai feels like he's in the way. He doesn't want to bother the happy couple!) He's still not sure how to feel about being called Tamaki's 'brother' though.
Unicorn - ♥? - Ah... (Hakkai is uncomfortable with her.)The unicorn can see Hakkai for what he really is, and that makes things awkward. In addition, unicorns are a symbol of purity, so even if she wasn't wary of him for being a demon, he'd probably be uncomfortable around her. During one encounter he learned that they come from very different places. For example, dragons seem to have much longer lives where the unicorn comes from. One thing they share (and may not yet be aware of) is a connection to nature. For Hakkai, his demon form with it's leafy vines makes him feel more connected to plant and animal life.
Wrath - ♥♥ - ... (We're somewhat similar.)It might seem strange for anyone to like Wrath, but he and Hakkai have a lot in common. After hearing the homunculus's story about his past, Hakkai wants to help him in his quest to become more human. Wrath is the only person currently in Somarium that Hakkai has shared details of his own past with. He likes the homunculus and feels that he can trust him in spite of his somber and uncaring demeanor. It's important to have someone that you can be yourself with. Wrath and Hakkai (as non-humans) are both a product of another person's destructive tendencies.
Zelos -
♥♥♥ - He's so cute~!For Hakkai, there was an instant attraction to Zelos. Although it's true that Zelos reminds him of a certain redhead back home, Hakkai sees them as having very distinct personalities. (Really, the only similarity is in the appearance and the flirting. Hakkai would never call Gojyo cute.) And Hakkai is secretly (okay, not so secretly) enamoured with Zelos, even going so far as to jokingly refer to Zelos as his 'boyfriend'. Of course, Zelos doesn't return his feelings at all, and in fact hates Hakkai's constant flirting. Hakkai feels guilty for making Zelos uncomfortable, but he won't stop.
