Last Day Before Internship
Tomorrow is the first day of internship but Miko, Reg and I went ahead to TMC to feel around the place earlier today. We attended the endorsements and had the outgoing interns orient us with the duties and tricks of the trade.
If today is an indication of our routine, I believe internship is going to be a much better year than clerkship. We no longer have to prove ourselves to the hospital and our superiors are already familiar with us. The challenge of being pioneers is the strong headwind we must prevail against. Oh Lord, the speculation, scrutiny and criticism! But prevail we did.By no means do I think I should relax. Now that I am more comfortable with the situation, its time to make some changes and take advantage of the opportunities.
There are so many times I feel I'm such a leech. Although my parents have agreed to sustain me through medical school, I still think I should be earning my own money already. Given that a good salary is at least 5 years away, I must rein in my consumerist tendencies. In any case, some long term goals: 1) telescope - astronomy has always been an interest; 2) kayak - to paddle on a calm river, a placid lake, or a gently rolling sea is good exercise and a great way to sight-see plus I love the water; 3) a scooter - sana may Ducati na kaya ko :D pero Yamaha muna or Honda.
