How about a real, personal update?

Have you ever had the feeling that someone you once lost was right next to you?

I've lost my grandfather three years ago to cancer.
While it was such a sad situation it was so beautiful that the last movement he made was to sit up and hug me good bye.

I was sleeping a few nights ago and something had woken me up.
I felt his presence.
I wasn't scared, I was comforted and warm. I felt a strong surge of love flow through me.

All of a sudden my television show turned to a the song "I hope you dance" by Lee Ann Womack .
I turned my head slightly facing nothing out of the ordinary and said, "I will, I love you," and fell right back to sleep.

Tonight while I was working on my homework listening to Christmas music, the song "Oh Holy Night" came on. I've always remembered my grandfather when this song came on as every time he heard it, he cried. It reminded him of his mother.

I felt the need to stop what I was doing, close my eyes and sing along.
Chills went through me throughout the entire song.

I'm not afraid, I feel loved and safe.
It's as if he knows I'm on my own and wants to make sure that I can handle everything that life throws at me and wants to remind me to never take anything for granted.

I love you, Grandpa.
Thank you for taking care of me.
I miss you so much.
