I actually don't know what this is.
I made one of those wishes and tied it to a tree, too. But we were only allowed to write in Japanese so my wish is dumb because I don't know how to say anything meaningful.

These two are my favorites because she truly sat and meditated there for a while. I sat close by and when she was finished she said she was glad I stayed because it's important to have someone guard your body when your mind is elsewhere in meditation. She is precious.
Kelly, me, Ikuji. Not Kamakura; Karaoke in Shinjuku. I'm not embarrassed I just felt a bit awkward being the only American in a room of Chinese karaoke singers for three hours. I only sang the songs that everyone would sing together, which means I sang Atomic Kitten, Backstreet Boys and Ai Otsuka. Oh my goodness.
