Today I woke up and showered and ate breakfast with the family and then rain off to meet Yoshiaki in Shibuya. It was my first day taking the subway alone and it was easy as pie getting there. I waited for him by the wall of Hachiko, because I was too silly to realize that the statue was like 10 feet away. We had originally planned on going from Shibuya to Yokohama, but an early curfew forced us to settle for ganguro central. My first trip to Shibuya was not so cool, because I went with Mariko and grandma and her friend Teruko, who was also like a million years old, so we didn't get to explore much beyond Shibuya 109 (big retarded department store). Today, however, we walked around all of Shibuya and to Harajuku. We went to one huge thrift store (full of American shit) and lots of little ones, the Miss Sixty store (among other designer stores that I'm too lazy to list), a free market (Japanese for flea market), a million record stores, two Starbucks' and some uh, other places. My first Japanese frappacino had little boba like squares at the bottom and it was so good I died. But I think I saw Yoshi pay with a 10000yen note and get like 1800 back and that pretty much makes my brain explode. It was really humid today so I was sweaty and tired, but I think we got some damn good exercise. At around 530 Yoshi walked me to the Shibuya station and then realized I didn't know how to get home. He got on the train with me for a little while and gave me directions from there and I was pretty terrified that I wouldn't make it home. But! I got to Chiba safe and sound and on the monorail back to Oguradai I saw one firework out the window that nobody else noticed, and that's when I knew that my life is pretty cool right now and everything is going to be okay.
