The False Peace
The modern West is wallowing in a delusion. We clamor for words of peace from alleged spokesmen of Islam and ignore the background and historical facts which make lies of those soothing words. If an Islamic person speaks of peace, it is to be the peace of submission to his God. If you are not of his faith, you are - at best - an inferior or slave, or you are dead. Make no mistake; look for no out, there is none. Read his holy texts, the Qur'an & the Hadith. They command war against the non-believers.
If they tell you otherwise, in whatever language, consider this. They live by Mohammed's direction - and this is key - his example. In both, it is even encouraged to lie, to cheat and kill to advance the cause of Islam. Telling you a patent falsehood if it encourages your weakness or cooperation is acceptable. Make you a promise under false pretenses to induce you to inaction or give them time to find a way around or through your obstruction of his goals? They do so by Mohammed's command and example.
You think this is about grievances? Think again. The Crusades were not pretty, no. They followed more than 400 years of Islamic expansion and territorial aggression. The tactical and strategic approaches of the advance of their cause are grand and insidious, both. There is no kind of peaceful co-existence when they have dominion. If you are not of the faith, you will be humiliated and pressured in civil and social cruelty to surrender and convert. The notions of equality and genteel civility have no place in Islamic doctrines. Will they use your belief system against you? What do you think?
Before you get excited with my words, remember this. While there are about a billion Islamics, most of those are not Arabic literate. Islam is not like Christianity, a 'personal' religion, but a very culturally consuming and socialized system. The Qur'an in those madrassas you have heard of in the news has the students memorize it in Arabic. If you are in Indonesia, there is a very good chance you do not understand what you have memorized. Sure, you may speak the words and call yourself a believer, but the call of those words is not so strong. This, however, is changing and the tied may be turning against us more.
Christian traditions, in the core belief system, are fairly peaceful and tolerant. There is no Islamic Golden Rule. Unless we accept that our system has merit, we are doomed. If you're a woman, or especially a homosexual, remember the Qur'an has a clearer answer for you than the bible. Very simply, subjugation for women and death for homosexuals. Are you sure you want to be a multiculturalist?
