my most christian entry yet......
I thought about some things today...wasnt sure if i wanted to post them on here......eh....dont care what people think anyway....so read if you want...
I've seen some girls make fun of people that cry, sing and raise their hands as acts of worship at church. I've also heard non-believers make fun of these things... Personally...I dont raise my hands....everyone has a different way they like to worship, one they feel comfortable with according to their personality. There is also this belief within the church that people that raise their hands and cry are the "godly" ones.... everyone is different.
Its so easy to make fun....make fun of these things we dont understand or havent experienced....for the simple reason of being cool in front of others....or just to give christianity a bad name....a name that shows we are crazy and ridiculous for doing the things we do.
I talked to a friend of mine who is known for raising his hands and crying during worship....he said he sometimes feels happy....sometimes unworthy.....he raises his hands..in a way reaching for God....This guy is totally genuine..but for people that dont know him, he is a lunatic...like all of us....like Jesus was.
I Think its funny how some non-belivers make fun of the christians that express many emotions when they worship...yet you see one of them at a concert and they are doing the same exact thing....raising their hands...crying because the backstreet boys are amazing and they have front row tickets....or they are jumping and yelling to the sounds of good charlotte.
To me, its not only wrong but ridiculously stupid to cry...raise your hands for, and idolize human beings...but we are the ones made fun of becuase we worship our creator.
People just want to judge and criticize..but it has to be about God...Jesus..Bible..anything that will make us look like fools.....like when the passion came out...."its too violent"...."its not accurate"......they never saw "saving private ryan"...or "braveheart"??....they are just as violent but no one says anything becuase it wont raise controversy and it wont give christianity a bad name.
The Unexplainable urge within EVERY human that drives us towards a closer relationship with God. An emptiness that can only be filled with his presence. Most people just dont want to accept this...they ignore it...they fill that emptiness with temporary things that they need to keep doing every night....brings them about an hour of happiness....who knows.
