2012 is here

So, after all of the hype, the anticipation and partying, 2012 is finally upon us. A new year with many new hopes and wishes.

I have truthfully been looking forward to this for a long time. I have many goals to work on, much to look forward to, and many changes to have take place. I don't wish to use the word 'resolution' because it tends to fall flat after trying to maintain it (like when Hollywood refused to use the word 'sequel' thinking that it would jinx the movie). So, I'd like to share with you a few of mine.

A big one is to write more, both in my journal and on-line - I will be starting my own blog and hope that friends and family may check it. It's not only for others to read, but it's more for myself: getting my ideas, thoughts, words down so that they can stare right back and me and tell me that I have good intentions, am smart, and that I have ability to share my opinions and feelings with others.

In 2011 I began the road to a new career and will be continuing it this year; I still have a couple more seminars to go to and more to learn. This career is giving me insights into my own being, which I must say, was long overdue. I knew myself, yes, but I never appreciated the good qualities I possess, or have just never been able to describe them. I truly believe that I have found a good path for me.

I have long tried to lose weight, but I have a new approach to it and wish to get out of the diet wading pool. It's quite simple: exercise and eat healthy. After all, isn't that what everyone should do in the first place? Losing weight is not a quick fix - it takes time, effort, motivation, motion, choices, and even good thoughts to remind yourself of why you are doing it as you bypass that bowl of ice cream.

Organization and having a clean room has been an issue of mine for quite a number of years. I have started, stopped, paused, fretted, thrown stuff out, thrown tantrums...you get the picture. I want to have my own sanctuary that will also be used as an office, a library, exercise space, storage area, living room, and bedroom. It will be a challenge, going through the clutter, deciding what memories should be boxed and put away for now, and what should be taken out. But in a way, it will be fun, for I then get to re-arrange my furniture in a way that suits me best. Basically, in a way that says, "welcome home to your own space".

If I can sum it all up, basically my biggest project for this year is...ME. Putting myself first and allowing me to be the best I can. More will come, I promise you.
