I had wanted to post earlier, but with the fires going right now, it's been difficult to think about anything else.
Friday night, my mom, dad, sister, her fiancee and I went to see Boyz II Men at the Canyon Club in Agoura. It was fantastic! They are now down to three (apparently because he was diagnosed with a disease that infected his vocal chords) but they still are as amazing as ever. They connected with the audience, sang old and new songs, danced, and were absolute gentlemen. At one point, the microphones went off towards the end of a song, and they asked to back up one of the music tracks and check the mics so they could give us the proper ending to the song. It was great. This was actually for my mom's birthday - and I'm glad that she enjoyed herself. She doesn't like huge concerts, but this was a smaller venue (even though it was packed!); we could actually see them and not need binoculars.
Right now, I'm worried about the fires. Though I'm not near any of them, the smoke blows in heavily and the wind is not dying down at all. It was so powerful that it blew four stacked plastic chairs into our pool. No joke. I'm actually afraid to leave the house at times, because it seems like a fire can start at any time.
I have friends affected and it's scary. My thoughts and prayers are with you, the firefighters and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.
