I finally got officially offered a job doing day camp at the YMCA! I'm quite excited about it, I can think of no better summer job (well I could, but not one that is within my realm of possibilities)
I'll be playing outside, going to the beach and doing arts and crafts all summer. (AND I don't start work until June 4, have the whole week of the 4th of July off and am done by August 10th) It's completely ideal.
I feel very fortunate right now. (even though I know this is insignificant as most of my friends are getting real jobs and entering the real world or doing really earth shattering internships, etc.) I feel like this is a good fit for me this summer with my financial situation, etc. I wish I were moving to Africa to save the world, but perhaps I can make a positive impact on some Delta County kids' lives.
ummm not much else is new. I'm graduating soon, but it's fairly anti-climatic when I'll just be back at school, the same school, next year for another 3-4 years depending on how that masters thing works out. I guess it's nice to be moving along in my education - I'm about halfway to real world status!
I'm also planning all my fun summer activities. I want to try and travel a lot before and after working. Before I'm thinking Detroit to visit all my friends there/actually see the city since I've never been to Detroit. Also I'm thinking D.C./Baltimore to possibly visit Amanda and Kristin and then Colin and I are planning a wine tour getaway in Mich. for our birthdays! Also, I'll be traveling back down to E.L. a few times to hang out and to see "Wicked"!! (hopefully, tickets go on sale May 4) yay, yay, yay. right now I'm just feeling incredibly excited and I'm not sure why.
AND you should all come to the U.P. and visit me =) I promise it will be marvelous. (and if you are planning to be living in the U.P. over the summer let me know so we can hang out!)
