So, for those of you who don't live in the normally mild Southern Illinois...we got an additional 4 inches or so of snow last night. My office was closed again today (although I had to go in because a response to a summons was due by Monday - I love procrastinators). It is also frickin' cold. If we get clouds tonight, the low will drop to about 1 above zero or so. If we don't get clouds, it will drop to 4 or 5 below zero. Fun. All in all, the road conditions should make for an exciting drive to the parents houses for Christmas stuff. We kind of have to go this weekend because the next few weekends are taken up with stuff like
oldman72's birthday party extravaganza,
dizzydarko's good-bye party, and mid-winter. So unless we want to put Christmas off until the end of January or miss some other thing, we'll have to brave the elements. I hope all of you people up north - who apparently did not get any snow - enjoy the switch...maybe we won't be so quick to gloat about the weather down here in the future. This is teh sux.
On a positive note - my Christmas present from one of my employers was on my desk when I went in today. It had chocolate covered macadamia nuts and two bottles of wine in it. So, while like most lawyers I know, even though he didn't appear to be paying attention to day to day office stuff, apparently, he noticed and remembered the stuff I like. Kind of cool.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Kayti is teh roxxor!
