The summer is slipping away too quickly! I've already had a bad dream about going back to supply teaching :P Ah well, I've had a lot of good times already and I've even accomplished a few things! Here are some highlights:
* The test scoring for EQAO went well in July. I did Grade Three Reading, so it was pretty easy to score. Some of the kids who wrote the test were really out to lunch, but they did have some funny answers. I'm finally getting paid for this work next Friday! Yay!
* I finished my online course of Special Education Part 1. I wasn't thrilled with that course because the text book was so dry and there was a lot of group work, which is tricky to pull off online, especially during the summer. I still learned about some useful resources, so it was helpful.
* Wonderland last SUNDAY was lots of fun! It wasn't too busy, so we got on most of the rides that we wanted to, and even one that I didn't want to (damn Jet Scream).
* I had a nice meet-up with some of the people I went to China with last summer.
* Yesterday I went to Jessica and Kevin's wedding. It was really lovely. Jessica asked me to do the First Reading at Mass, and they liked my public speaking so much that they asked me to say Grace at the reception! (After seeing Talladega Nights, I was sorely tempted to thank the 8lb 6oz Lord Baby Jesus :P). It was the first time I was at Carmen's Banquet Centre, and it was very classy with helpful and friendly staff! Also, the food was way better than at Michelangelo's! The open bar was good times too, but I made myself a bit sick by mixing too many different kinds of drinks and shots :P
For the rest of the summer I'm hoping to catch up with people I haven't been able to see too often. At the top of that list is
queenie_writes who I'm going to visit in Ottawa next week for a few days! I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeally looking forward to that!
Anyway, it's a beautiful day out, and, surprisingly, I'm not hung over, so I'm going to enjoy the sunshine in the backyard and flip through the new IKEA catalogue! :D
