The Mighty Max is not so Mighty anymore

The Mighty Max I am talking about is my truck, for it is no longer able to run anymore. I rammed it into the back of an 80's reinforced steel van. The same kind that my mom drives, except the one I hit was white. So the following will be an account of the death of my truck...

I had just gotten off of work at the Greyhound station early because the Bus was running early. This put me in a good mood so I was going a little faster than normal. Now, for the weekend I was staying at my grandfather's house because he was out of town. I was watching his pets for him. So, I'm driving down Hollywood Blvd since it is the fastest way to his house from the Bus station, and driving around 35-40mph, and to be honest I don't know what the speed limit was. I was listening to Soundgarden on the radio which I was diggin', and when that song ended a Kid Rock song came on. Now I like Kid Rock, but the song on the radio was a dumb one, so I went to change the station. Now for those of you who don't know, my truck has a crappy radio/tape player which uses dials, not buttons, to change things like the volume and the stations. So, I'm looking down watching the dial move from 99Rock to Z-96 when my truck comes to a sudden stop without me having to use the brake. I thought I veered off the road and hit tree or telephone poll. Nope. After regaining my breath from the seat-belt pulling the air from my lungs, I look up to see a Tank of a van pulling off to the side of the road. Looking at the van I noticed that it had very little damage done to it, the collision might have moved his bumper a couple of inches. So naturally I think "Hey, if the van wasn't damaged maybe my truck wasn't damaged either." WRONG. The front of my truck now looks like an accordion. The front bumper stayed in its place. (I think because it went under the van) But the grill moved about 6 inches inward, crushing everything into the engine. After coasting off the road, since the engine didn't work anymore, I went over to the van to see if anyone was hurt. It was full of kids coming home from a Halloween party. But luckily no one was hurt, and the only damage it did was throw around some cake and cookies they had. So, we called the cops and I got an $83 ticket for reckless driving, and I got to see my truck towed away to a body shop. I think the cop went easy on me because on the insurance form she put $300 estimated damage for the van, and $2,000 estimated damage for my truck. Right now I'm driving my grandfather's Oldsmobile while I look for a new car. I'm going to take pictures of the truck and try and figure out how to put them on the net for all to see. I hope everyone's weekend was as fun as mine.
