It feels so weird being detached from reality, I mean all these important things are going on in America and Im missing all of it. Kind of funny because I always considered myself politically aware until now, now that Im here in Japan its as if Im in a different world. The only shred of political info I have is on the tv at work which I consider next to useless, useless because it feeds the minds of the fellow D.O.D (department of defense) members with buyest political standpoints and subliminal pro American information. Ha, political corruption and subliminal pro American messages? no thank you I already get enough at work as it is. Anyway like I was saying, I feel so left out on these final days of the election, everybody at home seems so excited because these are the days that are going down the books of History. I can imagine imagine twenty years from now walking into a library and picking up an old dusty book that displays on the front: " THe days that went down in history/ Kerry vs. Bush". I'd read that. Hmm well sad to say I missed my registration date, so it looks like I wont be going to college until the next term and so now I have to occupy myself with educational things for another couple of months.
Things here in Japan are wierd, sometimes I have to remind myself that from time to time sitting on the late train on a friday night from a dinner in Yokohama. The trains arent filled with normal silent chatter of nothingness but instead of the snores of the commuters on their way home form a hard days work. Everybody here in Japan works so hard at providing quality service its almost frightening. They work so hard in fact, that even the people who are standing i.e. the ones holding the bars for support, manage to find a way to fall asleep. In fact I saw a Japanese man leaning against the door with his face on the window, the window of course was all fogged up around him as he carelessly slept away. Man I wish I had that kind of work ethic, excluding leaning my face on the window of a train door. lol.
I hope everything is going well for you guys on the other side of the world, I miss all of you guys and I wish I could be there for the end of this year, or the next. Yeah its going to be awhile before I can take leave back to the states, I probably wont be back until next christmas. Dont worry though I got a phone and any of your guys can feel free to call me if you want. My number is:011-81-46-896-2638. Yeah its long so it would probably be wiser to just IM me.
