So. Finally got this thing working again, just in time to hear all bloody hell breaking loose up there. Sad to have missed it.
Unfortunately, I've been spending my time chained to a wall in someone's basement. Now I ask you- is that a way to treat an old mate

She knocks twice on the door of the mansion, hard knocks that would definitely be heard, no matter where Wesley was inside.]

Angel went to the office. If anyone asks, he knew nothing about us deciding to let Spike go free.

They tried it his way, now they're doing it her way.]
Okay. So how were you planning on doing this? Just...letting him go and hoping that he attacks you?

A little more goading couldn't help. He has several obvious buttons to push, so long as we don't say anything that he could use against us in a trial.
[ And he stops talking about it when they get near the door, because he can't risk Spike over-heading, and unlocks the door to head down the stairs. ]
Shall we let you prattle on about your scarred innocence for a bit longer, Spike? Or are you ready to be set free?
Reply
Oh, I think we can skip the scarring, on my end at least. You've got the keys? Really gonna let me out, then, not just payin' lip service to the City?

I'm a man of my word.
[ Casually strolling away from the bottom step, he begins flipping each key around the ring while taking his time to find the right one. ]
I'm also going to have to trust your word on this, in regards to you behaving. But even if you do step out of line, it shouldn't be very hard to capture you again. Wasn't hard at all this time, really. You used to be so notorious. Lost your edge?
[ Goodness goodness, where is that key? ]
Is it because Drusilla left you? [ Mock empathy. ] I can understand, having to go on without the woman you love. But it must be even worse knowing she chose to leave you. That must sting quite a bit.
Or is that why she left you? Not exactly very scary anymore, are you? Other than parading about taunting high school girls, you haven't done much damage in awhile, really. In fact, as I recall... You worked with Buffy to stop Angelus, didn't you? Even ( ... )

Right, then. If you're done talking about things you've got no idea about, you can get on with unlocking me.
[ He can't seem to leave it at just that, though- he shakes his head and fixes his eyes on Wes's, standing to his full height. ]
And mark my words, Wesley. I'll be as gentle as a kitten here, but- as soon as I get back, I'm lookin' you up, and you'll be one of the first I tear apart on my way back to Dru. Your spine will be the gift-wrap around my welcome home present. So don't go getting too cocky- you've got a lot of pain waiting for you outside.

When you get back, you won't even remember this. But I can tell you your future, if you like.
Has anyone mentioned yet that you get a soul? Much like Angel, actually, except you seek it out. You want to be a better man. And you very much do find us in Los Angeles.
[ Oh right, there's the key! B) He unlocks the large cage and steps in. ]
We're rather close acquaintances, actually. You're quite the hero. I'd almost call you a friend. So you can threaten all you like, Spike, but I already know what sort of man you're going to end up as.
[ Crouching down, looking entirely casual despite being very ready for an attack as he begins unlocking the shackles, his tone lowered in a mocking jilt. ]
A champion of the people.

You're wrong about me, Wes. You're gonna wish you knew how badly--
[ He attacks as soon as he's unshackled, attempting to wrap the chains from one shackle around the man's throat and use the leverage to slam the man into the wall. ]

You'd best think twice about this, Spike. [ His voice is raspy, because he does at least need to breathe to talk. ] Kill me and you can't play innocent to anyone.
Reply
[ He's about to attempt to snap the man's neck, but stops for a moment- this might be a set up. They might be recording him. But...he's not going to wait, regardless. He vamps out and glares at Wesley with yellow eyes. ]
I'll show you a Champion.
[ This man is cold, dead- and he wouldn't want the fight to be over with right away anyway, so Spike instead opts to slam Wesley's head into the wall. He's not expecting too much resistance, and hopefully while Wes is dazed, Spike can go grab a wine bottle. ]
Reply
...You think I'm... [ SOB ow his head! He winces. ] ...just going to let you prance about while I lay here?
[ At least now it can be called self-defense, and he doesn't hesitate to grab onto one of the cage's bars to pull himself up as Spike starts to walk away, a soft click the only warning before he aims and fires. The small stake manages to puncture Spike's side - he missed, but then he meant to. The sorry aim can always be blamed on his head injury. ]

[ He'd talked over the click, so the stake is a surprise. He pulls it out painfully and turns back on Wes, bottle in hand. ]
...OW. Did you just launch a stake at me?! Can't say much for the aim, might've wanted to fine-tune that little gadget a bit.
[ He tosses the bottle at Wes' head, hoping to inflict something that will keep him from moving quite so much. Or shooting stakes at him. The bottle thumps against his head and shatters on the ground. Spike stalks over and picks the bottleneck up, appraising the sharpness of the shards. ]
Suppose it'll do. What do you think, Wesley? This a weapon befitting a champion? Or maybe I should shoot a stake in your side, see how that suits you.

So she walks in, peering around the corner of the door.]
Wes? How did the-
[And in half a stride she's behind Spike, yanking him by the shoulder and punching him once in the face, slamming him against a wall for good measure.]

Get him back in the shackles! We need to...alert the authorities.
[ Okay, the chair is totally toppling over since he wasn't clinging to it in the most balanced of ways, so he'll just...lay there on the floor. GIVE HIM A MOMENT while he tries to fumble around for his bloody phone. ]
