I'm not entirely sure whether or not I really liked this episode. Something about it.. I don't know, I liked it, but I didn't love it. Maybe I should just watch it again. ;)
Maybe because it was one of those budget-saving episodes, which can feel a bit strange after big-budget episodes? since they have to write what they can afford instead of just going for it, like they did in the last two episodes. Or maybe it was something else?
I understand what you're saying, but that's not it, I think. I think I felt a bit let down by the idea of George being a Tenza child and all these bad things coming from that. It did not make sense to me that he would try to be everything his parents wanted him to be yet be so scared all the time. (It could be that I missed some crucial bit of information though.)
It was also really odd to have the previous episode (and this series' larger arc), where we were shown Rory and Amy dealing with the kidnapping of their daughter, and then this one, with a focus on the child but no reaction to it by either Amy or Rory. Amy even deadpanned about "scary children", which... I don't know, I guess I would've liked to see a bit more continuity or let's say opportunity for continuity in the emotions of Amy and Rory.
Yeah, I didn't really like the Tenza-reveal either, honestly. :/ About the scared thing, that I did like. He overheard his parents talking about their economical troubles and thought that they didn't want him anymore. That made him depressed. I like that he had his own feelings despite the whole "be what your parents want" thing, which would have been extremely creepy otherwise.
Yeah, the continuity issues were annoying. I think they should have just kept this one as the third episode of the series, it would have fit in much better there.
I like your icon! :)
ETA: The pirate ep were originally supposed to air instead, right? I think that ep would have been stronger for it. Like, Amy "losing" Rory right after they lost their daughter. That would have been dramatic.

WHILE I DON'T THINK THEY'LL EVER EVER KILL THE DOCTOR, I DON'T LIKE TO BE REMINDED THAT 11 WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO REGENERATE. IT MAKES ME SAD. :(

Otherwise I will cry.
I still miss Tennant. And Eccleston. :(

And the scary bits really helped make the funny dialog seem even funnier. I loved that. :)
