Thoughts on the pilot, with some comparisons to the book.
• I really need a GoT icon, lol. /note-to-self
• The title-intro-sequence thingy is WONDERFUL and really clever! The books have a map at the beginning of the book, and now the TV show have a map at the beginning as well. Genius! :D

Here be spoilers for episode one )
From what I understand having seen a lot of trailers for further episodes and watched cast interviews, I think that the intention was to make the Dothraki originally seem to be really THAT savage in order to bring stark (no pun intended) contrast to the later portrayal of them in further episodes when we see the more humane side of them through Daenerys.
idk. There's quite a good article on it here.
This episode must have been pretty confusing for first time viewers.
I'll be honest, i've never read the books or actually even heard of A Song of Ice and Fire until Game of Thrones... but I didn't find it even slightly confusing at all.
Nobody i've spoken to about it seems to find it confusing, so I don't think they're going to have any problems keeping viewers because of that.
Even my MUM didn't have questions, and usually she's full of questions on anything, even Doctor Who she doesn't completely get most of the time.
OH AND MAISIE WILLIAMS IS KILLING IT! KILLING IT DEAD! SHE LOOKS LIKE TOO MUCH WIN IN THE TRAILER FOR TOMORROW'S EPISODE.

OOoooooh. That makes sense! Well, I feel better about it knowing that's what they're going for. :D

Really?? Hmm. I thought it would be confusing. Because, like, they didn't even explain who some of the characters are. Although I guess that means they explained everything that was necessary to get what was going on? Cool. :D
YES I AM LOVING HER. SHE'S AWESOME. :D
And Arya is such a fantastic character too, so this is bound to great!
