Here's the trailer of
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, starring Shia LaBeouf, Channing Tatum, Robert Downey Jr. (who plays the older version of Shia's character) and Rosario Dawson.
visit videodetective.com for more info Ohhh, I have such an urge to hug Shia right now, after watching the trailer. *hee*
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints is a coming-of-age drama, which is based on a memoir written by Dito Montiel, who is also the main character in the movie - played by both Shia and Robert Downey Jr. as a teenager and adult - about his days as a youth growing up in a rough neighborhood in Astoria, New York. I think Shia and him look nothing alike, though. *lol* I think Astoria is located in the borough of Queens? I dunno man, all those boroughs and neighborhoods and what-not in NYC confuses me.
I would really, really like to visit New York City someday though.
Anyway, back to the movie. It seems that Shia has like the most screen time(but of course, since he's playing the author of the book himself), but Robert Downey Jr. has first billing, with Shia right behind him in the credits. That's still cool, though. Oh, and I used to think that Channing Tatum was just some hunk actor who couldn't act well... can't blame me for thinking that - he was in She's The Man - but his movie roles of late (like this one, and Stop Loss) have been of the gritty type. Good for him! He's pretty cute. xP
Robert Downey Jr. is playing Tony Stark aka Iron Man, in Iron Man (hahaha), opening this May. He had some alcohol issues (I think?) but the general consensus is that he's a pretty good actor. Plus, reviews for the movie have been pretty good, so I think it shouldn't be too bad.
I'm thinking of ordering the movie from
DeepDiscount.com, along with Holes and The Battle of Shaker Heights; both also starring Shia. I'm also thinking of getting Velvet Goldmine which starred Christian Bale and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The prices at Deep Discount are REALLY cheap, as compared to buying it from video stores here. Region 1 DVDs costs a bomb here. *bleh* Especially if you buy it from HMV, shopping for CDs and DVDs there will suck the life outta your wallet.
JOB INTERVIEW TOMORROW! *deep breath* Hope all goes well tomorrow, and I don't lose my way or whatever...eeeeee
