WOOOOOOT!!!

*happy dance*

I just found out that August Rush will be opening here in Singapore on 17 January, 2008. Which happens to be my birthday. ^0^

*dances around some more*

I read about the release date in a local movie magazine while I was on the way home in the bus, and I totally broke out into a big smile right then and there. I do that sometimes when I happen to read something that pleases me. You can call me crazy, I don't care. =P

The movie's got an excellent cast, comprising of Freddie Highmore (who plays the title character August Rush), Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers (my main reason for obsessively wanting to watch this movie), Terrence Howard, Robin Williams and William Sadler (Carlton Fog in one of my FAVE shows, Traveler). Oh, Alex O'Loughlin (Mick St. John in Moonlight) has a small role in the movie as a member of JRM's character's band. Heehee. More man candy for me to admire.

This is seriously one of Jonathan Rhys Meyers' tamer movie roles, he usually plays really intense characters, like Henry the 8th in The Tudors, among others. Either that or he's playing a really controversial type of character - he played a glam rocker in Velvet Goldmine, whose character became lovers (yes, LOVERS) with Ewan McGregor. JRM is also not shy about doing nudity either, he's shown his naked-ass body (and I do mean absolutely naked) on screen. And I've actually seen his naked ass. Ho ho ho. ^0^ It is nice to see him in a romantic movie for once. Hehe.

OOOH. And did I mention that he sings in the movie? Yup yup yup, he does! In fact, he contributed about 3 songs to the movie's soundtrack. He's got a pretty good voice. It's not the first time he's sung in a movie though, he played Elvis Presley in a CBS miniseries a couple of years ago - which earned him a Golden Globe award for Best Actor.

WOOT, you go, Jonny!

*continues dancing around the room in joy*
