Reason Why I Hate Being a Teacher

Neither are they side effects of a night of pleasure. And they certainly aren't undesirable scars left behind after an accident.

Been very angry recently with parents of my kids.
To the extent where I "scolded" an irresponsible parent via SMS.
To the extent where I almost cried while complaining to V about Parent Number 2.
Held back my tears coz I didn't want to appear dumb for being so bothered about someone else's kid. Told V that this 2-year-follow-up system isn't really all that good for us. We end up getting too attached.
What's the issue?
2 kids. Both of the same race. I'm sorry to say that I've always been biased when it comes to this group. Because EVERYONE knows that they don't bother about their chikdren. The majority of them will just go on and on to create and produce but they don't give a shit about their kids. Being religious doesn't mean you have to be ignorant, you know. I know of people of that same race who are effective, responsible, educated... and one of them GOT MORE THAN TWICE THE FUCKING NUMBER OF KIDS AS PARENT 2! I AM NOT BEING RACIST. It IS true that a lot of them have tonnes of kids but don't bother about them.

- Only child - Said to be having financial difficulities - Staying in rented flat in Yishun - Present only for 40 days out of the 85 in Semester 2 - Parents don't answer calls when I call (and I HAVE TO call whenever he is not in school coz every absence must be accounted for. Order came from BIG BIG Boss) - On the days he was in sch, he won't have any books - If he happened to have the books, he doesn't know how to do the work because he wasn't around when topic was covered - Parents sometimes don't send him to school ("Sometimes" is an understatement here) - No money to send him - YET everytime he comes to school, they would take a cab here - And take a cab back home - Or go Geylang when he wasn't in school - And he has got NEW BAG, PENCIL CASE, GLASSES - WHEN HE DOESN'T EVEN COME TO SCHOOL - And he is putting on A LOT of weight
I mean, WTF!
Parents kept saying they need help, they want the kid to study. YET they don't send him to school. Then they say kid don't want to come to school. YOU ARE THE PARENTS, FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! Surely you can MAKE THE KID COME RIGHT!?!?!?!

Joined us in Sem 2 last year - Had a problem with attendance in previous school, so i paid close attention to him - Was alright until start of this year - Frequent reason for being absent: Vomitting/ stomach upset - NO MCs AT ALL - Mother got pregnant with 4th child - Boy's absences became more and more frequent - Recently, reason became: Mother had appointment with doctor, child cannot come to school - AND SHE WON'T EVEN ANSWER MY CALLS - Nor come to school to collect his work for the 4 days of PSLE Marking
Again, WTF?!
What - YOU have appointment with doctor, your son HAS to be there? To Sign? To Pay? To Supervise? To Listen to what doctor has to say? What fucking shit reason/ excuse is that? Then when I questioned the son, she smsed me to say "PLEASE DON'T SCOLD R".
Just what kind of example/ impression are they trying to set for the kid?
I really wonder. Do they really care?
I see a lot of such cases, and each time I would think, WHY IN GOD'S NAME DO THEY HAVE CHILDREN THEN, IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO BE RESPONSIBLE PARENTS?

I pity those kids.
Like I told them, they aren't MY kids.
So whatever the case, it's not my problem.
I pity them.
And I despise their parents.
