oh math...
So i took my math midterm this morning at 9:00. Walking out, i was really worried because I knew I hadn't done so well. the test format was 10 multiple choice questions worth 10 points each, no partial credit on answers, with a two point guessing penalty. I ended up only answering 4 of the 10 questions. Apparently I wasn't alone though. We just got the statistics back. I hit the median with a 28/100 (4 questions answered, 1 wrong). The mean was a 26. Someone got a -12 (6 questions answered, all wrong). Why do some professors feel it necessary to make exams so hard? Yes Dr. Shatz, we know you are infinitely smarter than us lowly peons. It doesn't mean that you have to rub it in so much...
