How the merry heck is "My Favorite Things" a Christmas/Hannukah song????

Really!  It's been played at least once a day for the past week and I've never heard it played during the rest of the year.

YES! it is considered a holiday song... But I've never understood the reason! (or lack there of!) It is NOT a holiday song! It has no relation to any holiday! Even the musical from which it comes never mentions the holidays!
