"Here, Mommy."

Early this morning, while it was still somewhat cooler out - Aidan and I took the pups to the doggy park. As Moshka and Nitro suffered from cases of "zoomies" and disappeared from sight, chasing eachother and having a wonderful time, Aidan and I took a walk along the lake. He tugged at my hand to walk at a faster pace so he could explore as much of the ground possible for more baby "dimonsaurs".

We stumbled upon a little yellow flower, which really was just a weed. Though Aidan peered down at it and then knelt down, putting his face close to the flower. "Pretty!" he said as he stood up and pointed down at it. He amazes me. To me, and to everyone else - it was a weed. To Aidan, it was a pretty flower he has never before seen. Looking at the joy on his face, I realized how much we take for granted, even the "weeds".

"Yes it is, isn't it! What color is it?" I asked him. He looked at it again and then looked at me. "Yewow!" I gave him a high five for the correct answer. "Good job, Aidan." and I began to walk off.

"Stop!" he said. I looked back at him and he had his hand out, bidding me to stop. His face was frowned in a very serious manner. All he needed was a police badge and cop car and he'd be set. I don't know how this 3 year old has the power he has but I stopped dead in my tracks.

"What, Aidan?" I asked. He put a finger up, as if telling me to quietly wait. (Did I mention to you that he amazes me!?) Carefully, as if plucking the most gorgeous and fragile rose - he tore the weed from it's root and handed it to me. "I wove you Mommy."

I love you, to Aidan - more than you'll ever know.
