Something I REALLY Don't "Get"
Now that I have entered the world of "live journal", I have realized something that I find not only confusing but a tad contradictory and annoying. The whole "Friend's Only" thing jeeves me. I can understand the fact that someone only wants their friends to read it - and that's understandable. However 90% of the "Friend's Only" Banners just says "Comment, and ask to be added!".
For one, most of these diaries I have found on random. Why on earth would I want to add someone (1) I don't know and (2) Could write about stuff I couldn't nearly give a crap about? If all I have to do is comment "Please add me so I can invade your life", then really - what IS the point of having a "Friend's Only" journal?
Someone, please explain this.
The next thing I have found that is (really) assinine is when people decide they are going to clean off thier friend's list and tells people to "Please take me off your list if I don't have you listed." I don't get WHY. I mean, if people really want to read about their lives and their journal is still public, then why prevent them from readnig it and commenting it? It's nost like they have to comment back.
I mean is this not just stupid or am I REALLY just not getting it?
