Blair tells Serena that being friends with Dan is just like having another girlfriend. They go to museums, out to lunch, film festivals, that sort of thing. It’s really not a big deal. Serena forgives Blair for going behind her back (not that Blair was apologizing).
“Fine, you and Dan are friends. You have a real connection. Just no sleepovers, okay.” Serena crinkles up her nose in that annoyingly adorable way and giggles.
Blair rolls her eyes and bites her tongue.
Soon, everything resumes just as it was before. Blair makes Dan go shopping with her. He’s a better partner than Serena because Blair has to shop in the petites section and shopping was never really fun with her Amazonian friend anyway. He’s more patient than Dorota, because let’s face it, he has nothing better to do.
Dan usually picks where they eat, and the places rarely have salad on the menu. Instead of stabbing frisée and scooting radicchio around on her plate, Blair actually enjoys her lunch. She usually eats hers and then steals bites from Dan (because she always wants what someone else has).
They stay up late and drink wine and watch all kinds of movies. Classics, documentaries, foreign films, and even really cheesy movies--like the entire line up of Pirates of the Caribbean, and every movie John Cusack has ever done. One night they pull a double feature of the nineties classics--Clueless and Empire Records.
Blair slumps over on top of Humphrey at the end of the movie when AJ and Corey kiss on the rooftop. Dan’s breath is sweet from the half-pound of peanut butter M&Ms he consumed. Blair is pretty sure her fingers are stained orange from the Cheeto dust. It’s a perfect moment.
She should sit up, stay on her side of the couch, go home...but the divide on the cushions has blurred over the last few weeks, and she hasn’t been sleeping so well lately.
"Does this count as a sleepover?" Blair mumbles.
Dan hushes her with a reassuring hand on her back, and pulls her tighter to him.

I love the line about Blair eating his food and then the line about the boundary between their cushions blurring... And then the last line, with Dan drawing her closer!
