(no subject)
the new windows came in for my house today. finally. yesterday they delivered someone else's order. BUT. they messed one of my windows up. so, again, i kinda have to wait.
i feel like one of those people on hgtv. the house flippers. it's fun. we got this place for seriously dirt cheap, and we are totally remodeling it for, again, dirt cheap. one, we are doing all the labor ourselves because we like to and it's fun. well, i guess i will speak for myself on that one. i'm not sure if ervin finds it as exciting as i do. and two, my family owns a construction business, so i get everything i could possibly need at cost.
the only thing that sucks about this house is that it is right on the border of a "rich" and "so-so" neighborhood. and the thing about that is, on three sides of it are houses that are pleasant to look at. to our left.. oh my god. these people are just unbelievable. their house is rotten and falling apart. they have trash and car parts in their yard. they have graffiti on their house of anarchy and swastikas. the windows are broken and have plastic duct taped over. i don't know why it isn't condemned. the roof is literally falling in places. not to mention they themselves don't look to appetizing. i guess it's nothing a good privacy fence can't fix, but i hope it won't be something that hinders us when we go to sell.
we'll see how it goes. maybe i'll start flipping houses as a hobby or something if this experience agrees with me. i mean, so far so good. we'll see, we'll see.
